We Survived our One Year Anniversary!

One year ago today my husband and I were on the airplane headed to St. Lucia and ready for our next adventure...marriage. We had no idea what the Lord had planned for us, but we knew we were ready to experience our life together. It has been the hardest and most challenging year of my life, but I don't regret one single moment. I am in love more than ever and excited for the next 50 more years of marriage!

The Harris Girls

For as long as I can remember my sisters and I have been known as the "Harris Girls." After the oldest, Maegan was married Nat and I knew it was up to us to carry on the name for as long as we could. Just a few weeks ago the last Harris sister was swooped up by her prince charming to married land. At first this was kinda hard to take all in, that we are no longer the "Harris Girls," but then I realized besides the name, nothing changes. We are still the sisters who call on each other for everything, who are as close as we've ever been.
 The day after the wedding I was in my bedroom at my parents house going through old pictures. I found a picture my mom took of my sisters and I sitting on my bed. I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was a Friday afternoon and Maegan had come home from college for the weekend. We always would gather in one of our bedrooms or the kitchen, but that particular day I remember us sitting on my bed for hours just talking and laughing, mostly about boys I'm sure. Those memories I will never forget. As our family is growing I will never take for granted those moments and memories of when it was just the three of us...the Harris girls.

Cupcake Monster!

At this moment I am happy. I have my niece next to me saying, " Lu Lu, lap, Lu Lu, lap" and crawls up in my lap and snuggles. When I am having a bad day all I have to do is hear Emmalyn's laugh and my day is brighter. Yesterday we decided we were going to have Cupcake Day! Emmalyn is just like her daddy...BIG sweet tooth! She has a new crazy phase with cupcakes. Just a few days ago my sister had to go out and buy her toy cupcakes to go with her Barbie kitchen. She loved it! So, i got to thinking...I love baking and decorating and Emme loves cupcakes so why not have cupcake day! We had so much fun watching her dig into the cupcakes trying her hardest not to get her hands dirty with frosting all over her face. I think Cupcake Day should be once a month!

Sweet Summertime

This was such a good day. Dinner at a burger joint and Hot Air Balloon Festival afterwards. Moments like these make me grateful for family and the great outdoors during the crisp summer. We felt like celebrities because we actually ran into to crew of the new tv show on CMT "Sweet Home Alabama." I tried my best to get on film during their date! Emmalyn loved the colorful ballons! Such a great day!

Recent Projects

My coat hanger idea was inspired by two of my friends in Charlotte. Whenever I walk by or glance at it I will always think of them ;)

I found the wood at an antique shop in downtown Fairhope for 50 cents. The knobs came from Hobby Lobby for $1.99 and 50% off! I love bargain shopping!!

I made this picture as a wedding gift for a dear friend. I took pictures of letters in various locations while traveling on vacation and had it framed at Michaels. It spells out her new last name Franks.

Growing, growing, growing!

I had the privilege to photograph my niece Emmalyn. I have never seen a one year so amazed by Dora the Explorer! She can spot anything Dora in a store 1 mile away and when she see's her she screams as loud as possible, DORA!!!! She has such a fun personality and is always making me laugh!
